Committee approves several Colliers change orders, rejects aesthetic panel upgrade

Emery Andrade of Colliers told the committee that the change-order request labeled 01 was a reallocation of reimbursable allowances into project-management fees to add staff capacity; the reallocation does not increase the overall contract fee and was presented as an amount not to exceed $0.

The committee then considered and approved a series of discrete change orders. Ann Marie Andre explained that the North Cumberland Middle School elevator vestibule needs additional security door contacts that had been value-engineered out of the guaranteed maximum price; the full committee approved adding three more door contacts at a not-to-exceed price of $36,438. A separate proposal to add three-color metal panels for aesthetic purposes was not approved by the building committee and was rejected by the full committee.

For B.F. Norton, the committee approved adding washer/dryer connections at an amount not to exceed $31,655.39; project staff explained that the figure includes venting through the roof and roof penetrations. The committee also approved an integrated, full-height wall-padding solution for two reflection rooms in Special Education suites at a not-to-exceed $46,619. Several votes were recorded with recusal noted for Mr. Bacon on items where a conflict applied.
