Sarah Goldberg, who identified herself as new to the district this school year, gave the board a multi-part curriculum update focusing on alignment, tiered supports and state-mandated literacy requirements.
Goldberg said her priorities include building collaboration across buildings, reviewing and updating English-language-arts programming where material is older, and expanding tiered supports for students. She noted the district is "in the process of reviewing curriculum and making some updates" to meet Act 20 literacy expectations and highlighted recently purchased programs such as IXL and Benchmark Advance for grades 4–5.
Board members asked follow-up questions about staffing at the district academy, how artificial intelligence tools will be used in instruction and assessment, and how tiered interventions will be tracked. Goldberg described adaptive features of the ed-tech tools and recommended workshops and continued review with administrators to determine next steps.
