Board accepts $10,000 NES PFO donation; district thanks community donors

Kristen Christian, president of the NES Parent‑Faculty Organization, presented a $10,000 donation toward the NES playground project and the board voted to accept the contribution. The superintendent and staff enumerated other recent donations supporting convocation, teacher events and student supplies, naming donors including Wawa of Tappahannock, Leadbelly's restaurant, Northumberland Booster Club and several local individuals. The superintendent said the district received just under $1,000 in cash donations that were sent to schools for student supplies.
