Claymont students and staff recognized; Primary/Elementary donate $2,419.50 to Rainbow Connection

The board commended staff and community for hosting OHSAA events and recognized a $2,419.50 donation from Primary and Elementary buildings to the Rainbow Connection; State Wrestling Qualifiers were also named.
The board opened the meeting with a series of commendations. Brent Gates was recognized for assisting a coworker who needed medical attention, and members of the CISM Response Team (Heather Dotts and Jane Lesiecki) and staff who were invited to Gov. DeWine's state-of-the-state address were acknowledged.
Mrs. Whipkey reported that she and four students appeared on television March 8 for the Rainbow Connection and presented donations totaling $2,419.50 raised by the Primary and Elementary buildings; Mrs. Grandison noted that Claymont had collected more money than any other school. The board also listed and wished good luck to State Wrestling Qualifiers Kam Stout, Dre’Vonn Searcy, Nile Abbuhl, Daniel McGarr, Laiken Warner and Kendall Boitnott.
