Superintendent Brian Rentsch told the board he had introduced Amy Myers of The Barnett Realtors and Bob Hall of Cronebaugh Auction to represent Claymont City Schools if the district decides to sell the Claymont Intermediate building.
Rentsch said the district must first offer the building to any community school or chartered nonpublic school in the community; because there is none in the district, the administration is proposing to proceed with a public sale or auction with a timeline of at least 60 days. "They are interested in representing Claymont BOE in the sale of the Claymont Intermediate building and any other items," the minutes record.
Board members discussed timing and the goal of selling the building before winter to avoid carrying costs; no final sale authorization appears in the minutes — the administrators were introduced and the next steps include evaluating offers or proceeding to auction. The presentation and policy constraints were recorded in the administrative reports section.
