The Claymont City Board of Education accepted several resignations and approved multiple personnel contracts for the 2026–27 school year at its May 11 meeting.
The board accepted the retirement of Amy Rossi, English Language Arts teacher, effective May 29, 2026. It approved three-year administrative contracts beginning Aug. 1, 2026 for Brian Watkins as Claymont Middle School principal and Nino Pangrazio as school psychologist. The board also approved a slate of certified and classified contracts across one-, two- and three-year limited terms and continuing contracts as listed in the superintendent's recommendations.
The board voted to non-renew specified one-year limited contracts and approved handbooks for Claymont High School, Middle School, Elementary and Primary School for 2026–27. On higher-education partnerships, the board approved a College Credit Plus Memorandum of Understanding with Ashland University and a placement agreement with Western Governors University for student-teacher placements.
Superintendent Brian Rentsch presented the package; Ms. Campbell moved the recommendation and Mrs. Grandison seconded. The roll-call vote carried. The minutes note the board congratulated Amy Rossi on her years of service.
