The Springfield Board of Education approved personnel appointments, resignations and a retirement at its Nov. 17 meeting, including itinerant instructional aides and lunch/recess aides at $23.62 per hour and the retirement of Special Education Teacher Tamara Gutierrez effective July 1, 2026.
The board approved staff appointments subject to criminal-history background clearance for several candidates and accepted rescissions of two prior appointments. The board also approved before/after-school program appointments and athletic coaches for the 2025–2026 school year (example: Middle School Boys Basketball coach Michael Kanarek at $4,711.97). The approvals were taken as part of the Board Governance committee consent items and passed by roll call (motion: Vice President Kristy Rubin; second: Mrs. Turnbull).
