District staff briefed the board on two administrative items: a submitted competitive summer-learning grant and proposed student travel. The superintendent said the grant application totaled $123,000 and would support K–12 enrichment, credit recovery and enrichment programming; staff expected an award decision by the end of April.
Later in the meeting the board approved an action to permit out-of-state travel for student trips in 2026–27, including a Germany trip, a Disneyland senior trip and a Washington, D.C. trip. Trustees discussed the need to bring each trip back to the board when details and chaperone arrangements are finalized.
