Board members pressed for updates on several maintenance and safety items at Mist School, including a pushed-back metal door threshold in the gym, missing soap dispensers in restrooms and questions about custodial hours for the site.
A board member (S4) described visible movement of the metal door jam and missing screws and asked whether the cause was water damage or an impact; Superintendent (S2) said a replacement plate and parts have been ordered and he will check with Mark (maintenance) and return a timeline and plan to the board.
Board members also noted that the blue girls’ restroom lacked soap and that paper towels were sometimes missing after weekend events. Superintendent (S2) said the dispenser had been ordered and committed to increasing checks before events. The board discussed custodial staffing at Mist — with two employees delivering lunches and doing a quick cleaning routine — and asked administration to consider paying instructional assistants for extra time or otherwise scheduling additional custodial coverage.
"If you guys want, I can get you an update on the damage and the plan to correct everything, and I can send that to you guys," Superintendent (S2) said; board members asked for that written follow-up and repair timeline.
