Greg Brody, who identified himself as the fire chief of the Virgoin Fire District, used his public‑comment time to introduce the fire district’s engagement with school programs and to announce a proposed May levy to increase operations revenue.
“We're gonna be putting a ballot measure on the, on the ballot, for a increase in taxes…It's gonna be a 78¢ per thousand increase,” Brody told trustees as he described plans to expand staffing, buy equipment and build a training facility. He also cited a federal grant of about $242,000 that paid for new air packs but noted the district lacks capacity to service that equipment without additional operational funding. Board members thanked the chief for the partnership and discussed informal options for collaboration at community events and homecoming.
