Board approves anonymous survey and outlines public participation for Vernonia superintendent search
Summary

Consultant Rob Hess walked the board through a survey and multiple participation options designed to gather community and staff priorities for the superintendent search. He said the survey will be anonymous, administered by GLS, and used to develop the recruitment flyer and screening materials. "We could add that question if someone wants to put their name down," Hess said about optional name fields, but he confirmed the default will be anonymous and the raw data will be handled by GLS.
Board members and staff discussed committee roles—screening, semifinal and finalist teams—and agreed to make efforts to include both teachers and support staff so input is balanced. The board asked that survey distribution be clear about anonymity and access; GLS agreed to finalize the survey language and to post it publicly on the district website and in a short timeframe.
