The Platteville School Board on Aug. 12 reviewed first readings of several policy updates forwarded from the district policy committee.
Speaker 2 (Jim) outlined policy 453.4 related to naloxone (brand name Narcan) and said the district nurse, Crystal Curry, will maintain naloxone kits in each AED for use in opioid-overdose emergencies. He also cited policy sections connected to Wisconsin Acts 88 and 89 addressing anti‑grooming concerns and noted policy 731.3 pertains to electronic surveillance and specifically recommends updating bus-camera practices based on the WASB policy resource guide.
The board treated these items as first readings; no final action was taken at the Aug. 12 meeting. Board members asked clarifying questions about implementation and where kits would be staged, and staff indicated more detail will be available in subsequent meetings.
