The Platteville School Board approved a slate of personnel actions on Aug. 12, including new hires and resignations noted on the consent agenda.
S2 presented multiple resignation notices (part-time food service staff, a middle-school football assistant coach and special education assistants) and several paraprofessional hires that replace existing positions. The board approved interagency agreements and then moved to individual hiring items. S2 recommended hiring John Gumi as the middle-school physical education teacher; the motion to approve was made and seconded and carried.
S2 also recommended hiring Laura Adreesens (the transcript shows variant spellings in later comments; see clarifying details) as a one-year middle-school math intervention teacher. S2 explained current interventionist Dee will temporarily take the 7th-grade assignment and the one-year hire is intended to provide targeted small-group instruction while allowing staffing flexibility. The board approved the hire by motion.
