The Platteville School Board voted Aug. 12 to adopt its consent agenda, which included routine minutes, personnel items, and the district’s financial report for July. Board Chair (speaker 1) opened the motion and the board approved it after a brief roll call.
Jim (speaker 2) summarized the month’s finances, stating: “Our receipts totaled at $157,685.29. Total disbursements, $1,397,997.75.” He added the district did not need short-term borrowing and that the district maintains a robust fund balance following the June 30 fiscal-year transition. The financial report and accompanying bills were presented as part of the consent package.
Also included on the consent agenda was a new three-year contract with Huddle to provide livestream cameras and services for district events. S2 said the agreement continues fixed cameras at the activity complex and South Gym and adds a portable camera unit; athletic boosters were partners in the prior contract. A board member noted concerns about future pricing and market concentration, with one attendee observing that the vendor “just have a monopoly hold on the market” (transcript comment). The board did not delay approval for further negotiation under the consent agenda.
