Board awards nursing-services contract to Legacy after competitive RFP

Brandon Larson (S2), director of special services, presented results of the district’s nursing-services RFP and explained that four proposals were received — Legacy (a longstanding local partner) and three staffing agencies. He said the evaluation panel (including district administrators and board representation) weighted performance against the RFP’s performance requirements and found Legacy’s proposal best met the district’s need for consistent, on-call coverage.

Brandon told the board, "I think we agreed that continuing with Legacy for our nursing services is the best option for us at this time." He and other staff emphasized the value of stable, familiar nurses who build relationships with students and families rather than an unpredictable pool-based on-call model offered by some vendors. Discussion included requests from board members to see scoring detail; staff said legal counsel previously recommended posting anonymous scores for RFPs, and that more detailed scoring may be made available to board members on request.

A motion to award the contract to Legacy (recommended provider) for the 2025–26 school year was moved, seconded and approved on a voice vote. Staff said the Legacy bid was within the district budget assumptions; staff will finalize contract documents and report back on implementation.
