Carroll County Collaborative reintroduced into Eureka Springs vision plan

Sandy Martin, head of the Carroll County Collaborative, told the Eureka Springs planning workshop that the collaborative remains active and is organized around discrete projects led by area mayors.

"It is active," Martin said, outlining work that ranged from trade-school planning to broadband and housing initiatives. Martin described the collaborative as a quiet, project-driven organization that has convened stakeholders countywide to produce coordinated plans since 2020.

Workshop members said they had considered removing the collaborative from the city's vision plan because they had not heard recent updates. After Martin's presentation, the group voted informally to reintroduce a reference to the Carroll County Collaborative in the economic-development section and asked staff for supporting materials to document the collaborative's recent activities.

Michael, a planning participant who introduced Martin, said the city would retain the collaborative in its draft and bring a proposal to the next regular meeting for formal consideration.

The reintroduction directs staff to work with the collaborative on the vision-plan text; Cassie, a staff member, noted she would place the requested update into the packet for the council meeting.
