"This is about a $260,000 project overall," the superintendent said. He explained the campaign's fundraising model would require the district to provide some local funds and said, "At this point, I told them the maximum that we could provide would be about $30,000." The superintendent added that if the campaign raises the remainder the project would move forward, and if they do not raise the funds "there's no cost to the district at this point."
The board approved accepting the grant by voice vote and the superintendent noted previous outreach and a prior unsuccessful effort to fund the same installation. The decision authorizes district participation in the campaign and counsels that any construction would be contingent on outside fundraising.
