The Laurens Central School District Board of Education approved an overnight World Cultures Club trip to Iceland to be held approximately July 22–29, 2027. Club advisors G. Fairchild and M. Bello earlier reported 24 people attended an interest meeting and estimated the per‑student cost at just under $5,000; the board’s approval requires a final participant list one month before departure and reserves the right to rescind approval.
All trip costs will be paid by participants and/or funds raised by the World Cultures Club; the district emphasized that Code of Conduct rules will apply to participating students. The board recorded the approval during new business and noted that the district will require a final participant roster for administrative review prior to the trip.
