Board approves out-of-state travel: 8th-grade Future City and multiple high-school ski trips

The Board granted permission for the 8th-grade STEM class to attend the Future City competition in Boise, Idaho, Jan. 9–11, 2026. Rachel Gavin, the 8th-grade STEM teacher, told the Board she had 12 students interested in attending and noted the trip required Board approval because it is out of state; the motion carried 4-0, with one member absent.
Separately, the Board approved four out-of-state ski trips for the high-school ski club to Bluewood on Jan. 12 and Feb. 2, Feb. 9 and Feb. 23. Friday Bracher made the motion to approve the trips and Bobby Corey seconded; the motions carried by unanimous vote of members present.
