Helix board approves CM/GC method for Griswold gym seismic work, schedules Dec. 23 special meeting on Ag shop bids

The Helix School Board voted Dec. 10 to approve findings of fact allowing the use of a construction manager/general contractor (CM/GC) delivery method for seismic rehabilitation of the Griswold High School main gym and authorized staff to solicit RFPs. Bobby Corey made the motion, Friday Bracher seconded it and the motion carried 3-0 with two members absent.
Superintendent Brad Bixler told the Board KNCC has completed bid documents for the district's new Ag Science/Welding shop and that the district expects contractors to begin work once the Board accepts KNCC’s recommendation. "We should see contractors working on the building within the month," Bixler said. The Board also approved a special meeting for Dec. 23 at 6:30 p.m. to review those bids and accept a KNCC recommendation so contractors can begin work promptly.
