Cockburn & McClintock LLP presented the Helix School District’s fiscal year 2024–25 audit and issued an unmodified (clean) audit opinion, the district’s auditor Kylie McClintock told the board. The auditor reported no significant difficulties, no disagreements with management and that adjustments identified were corrected by district staff.
The district’s management discussion and analysis summarized key figures: total net position of $4,913,246 as of June 30, 2025; cash and cash equivalents of $3,720,415; and capital assets (net) of $5,320,223. The audited statements show Helix collected State School Fund revenues and had an ending combined governmental fund balance of $3,752,265. The audit letter noted the district’s adoption of GASB Statement No. 101 (Compensated Absences) and related restatements.
Business manager Kara Taylor told the board the district received the State Basic School Support payment and investment interest in December and that audited statements were uploaded to ODE by the Jan. 2 deadline. The board subsequently approved last month’s financial report as presented (motion by Todd Thorne; seconded by Ryan Raymond).
