At a Oct. 8 work session the Helix School Board concluded the district's socio-emotional learning goal has been met and decided to remove it from the list of 2025–26 board goals. Board members recorded that middle and high schools set aside 20 minutes every Tuesday and Thursday for SEL instruction and that staff are using Wayfinder to guide classroom presentations.
Board members said the District will continue classroom SEL practices but will shift formal goal attention to expanding high-school opportunities and academic performance. The board noted it will present the revised goals at the full board meeting later that evening.
