Superintendent Michelle Jensen reported the district is assembling an Access & Opportunity Committee to serve as its equity committee under state law; volunteers and nominees are being gathered and the committee is expected to be fully operational before Fall 2026. Jensen presented the committee as a channel to "elevate community voice and advise district leadership on access, opportunity, and the student experience."
Jensen also said Pendleton School District is working with regional partners on artificial intelligence policy development. "Pendleton School District is collaborating with IMESD and La Grande School District," she said; the district is reviewing model AI policy language, collecting regional feedback and planning staff implementation and learning supports before proposing a local AI policy to the board.
