The Pendleton School District 16R board unanimously approved the district's 2024–25 financial audit during its Jan. 12 meeting. Auditor Kylie McClintock of Cockburn & McClintock told the board: "No findings were noted for the financial statement audit for the current fiscal year ending June 30, 2025." Director Mason Murphy moved approval; Director Patrick Gregg seconded, and the motion carried unanimously.
The audit shows the district's governmental funds had a combined ending fund balance of $20.2 million, an increase of $1.6 million from the prior year. Total debt obligations decreased by $4.6 million during the fiscal year. McClintock explained that the district reports a Total Unrestricted Position of $9.4 million because of Limited Tax Pension Bonds issued in 2002–03 to address a PERS unfunded actuarial liability (the original debt issued was reported as $25.6 million and the outstanding PERS bond obligation is cited as $8.1 million). The board did not record any audit findings for the year and approved the audit as presented.
