Cannon Beach Academy asked the Seaside School District 10 board to increase the district’s per‑student contribution from 80% to 90% as part of a proposed charter amendment. CBA Board Chair Phillip Vincent presented the request and framed it as being "in the best interest of students."
Seaside staff clarified that SSD is not part of the state school fund for purposes discussed and emphasized the district does not receive funding for students who live outside district boundaries. Board members sought cost estimates and asked staff to research fiscal impacts before the board returns to the topic in June.
