Fall coaches present season goals and request facilities, staffing support

Several fall varsity head coaches appeared before the board on July 28 to present program highlights, participation trends, and resource needs for the upcoming season. Coaches described growing rosters across multiple sports, community fundraising support, and concrete facility or staffing requests that would support athlete safety and program competitiveness.

Swim coach Erin (speaker 12) said the girls' program has grown to 20 participants in conditioning and emphasized the program's inability to dive in the current pool: "We're desperate for upgrades" she said, noting both life-saving and competitive reasons for a better competitive pool. Football coach Kyle Reed (speaker 18) asked the board to consider summer athletic-trainer coverage after recent incidents during summer workouts; he noted the team’s first home game is scheduled for Sept. 10 (military appreciation night). Varsity volleyball coach Chloe Mauer (speaker 14) described themed nights and fundraising (Oct. 8 event) and pressed for improved ADA access to the upstairs gym so the program can host tournaments and expand seating.

Coaches also reported logistics challenges tied to facility sharing as middle-school programs were relocated to high-school fields; several coaches suggested the district study options for additional practice space and medical coverage for summer events. Board members and administration thanked the coaches and said fall and winter coaches will return for future updates.
