The Flambeau School District Board of Education voted to approve a bid from Commercial Recreational Specialists for a new school playground on March 11, 2026.
Mr. Brian Stracke of Commercial Recreational Specialists presented the proposal and told the board the playground package includes a 10‑year limited warranty and an estimated 4–6 week installation period with completion expected by mid‑August 2026. District Administrator Mark Stamper said the district will remove the existing equipment and will work with the vendor on canopy options. The board approved the bid on a motion by Kim Dachel, seconded by Zenny Mahun; the motion carried 7–0.
Board members asked for alternative canopy choices and for the cost of the canvas material; Mr. Stracke agreed to provide those alternatives and pricing to Mr. Stamper. The minutes record that Mr. Stamper will coordinate with Commercial Recreational Specialists to develop a more permanent canopy option prior to installation.
