The Watonga Board of Education voted unanimously on Feb. 9 to employ Amber Wilson as Elementary School Principal for the 2026–2027 school year. The motion to employ Wilson was made by Aaron Clewell and seconded by Shawn Cox; the roll call vote recorded all four present members in favor (motion carried 4-0).
The board had moved into an executive session under 25 O.S. Section (B)(1) earlier in the meeting to discuss personnel matters and returned to open session at 8:57 p.m., when Vice President Dwight McGee announced those present during the executive session. The minutes state that employment of personnel was discussed in executive session and that no formal votes or minutes were taken there before the board voted in open session to employ Wilson.
