Mineral Point board elects 2026–27 officers, appoints secretary and delegates

The Mineral Point Unified School District Board of Trustees on May 11 elected officers for the 2026–27 year and approved several organizational appointments.
Member Busch nominated Member Dunn for president and the board approved by roll-call vote 7–0. Members also elected Member Skelding as vice president, Member Will Harris as clerk, and Member Joni Heisner as treasurer through successive nominations and unanimous votes. The board confirmed Angela Schubert, a district employee, as the board secretary by a 7–0 vote; the district noted the secretary is an employee and not a board member.
The board accepted a proposed calendar of regular meetings for 2026–27 (second Monday of each month with dates listed on the agenda) and voted to maintain board member compensation at $2,000 annually and the secretary stipend at $100 per meeting (not to exceed $2,000 annually). The board also confirmed Joni Heisner as the CESA 3 delegate and Will Harris as the WASB delegate.
The actions set the board's leadership and operating cadence for the coming year, positioning committees and delegates ahead of planned work sessions and the district's strategic planning meeting on May 18.
