The Okemah Board of Education approved several personnel hires following its executive session on June 8, 2026. The board voted to hire the Exhibit A certified personnel on temporary contracts (Zondra Magness, Sandra Lambert, Sara Banta, Kelly Furer and Lennon Anderson, Jr.); that motion passed 5–0.
The board also voted to hire Donna Bagwell as a middle school teacher with a regular contract and to hire Kaylin Zumwalt as an elementary paraprofessional with a temporary contract. Both motions passed by roll call with unanimous recorded votes. These actions were conducted after an executive-session agenda listing for personnel matters under O.S. 25, Sec. 307 (B)(1)(2).
