Waterford board honors fourth‑marking period students and six retirees

The Waterford Township Board of Education recognized students of the fourth marking period for each grade and honored six retirees at its June 17 regular meeting.
Superintendent Dr. Michael A. Nolan and building principals presented the named students: K — Olivia Hollingsworth; 1st — Logan Simoni; 2nd — Teagan McGinnis; 3rd — Thea Schwanda; 4th — Harley Atkinson; 5th — Myla Pratt; and 6th — Holly Hume. The board also recognized retirees Elizabeth Friedman, Alex Handzus, Karen Litchko, Mary Low, Anna Russomanno and Carol Young. Dr. Nolan also presented the NEPBIS District Recognition Program to the board.
The recognitions were delivered during the presentations portion of the agenda and did not require a separate vote. The board’s minutes list the presentations under the Superintendent’s items and note that principals and teachers were present to introduce the students.
