The Oxford Academy & Central School Board on Sept. 2 approved a district-run After School Program to replace the YMCA provider. Superintendent Nicholas A. Colosi told trustees the change is intended "to better accommodate parents and students." The proposed program would operate 3:00–5:30 p.m. on school days, excluding holidays, closures and half days, and carry a proposed fee of $20 a week with discounts for families with more than one child.
Board members voted 5-0 to approve the program after Colosi said details such as scholarships and late fees remain to be finalized and that he is "hoping the program will be up and running September 22." Mr. Sheridan made the motion to approve and Mr. Emerson seconded. The board directed administration to finalize operational details and return to the board with any required policy or fee adjustments.
