DCMO BOCES representative Michael Rullo presented a proposed capital project that would fund roof and driveway repairs, HVAC and boiler upgrades, a new secure BOCES entrance for CTE students at the Harrold Campus, and a contingent purchase of the 2025 Masonville School from Sidney Central School.
Rullo told the board that "the propositions will be presented on February 3 from noon until 8 pm at all 16 component school districts" and that the Masonville purchase is contingent on passage of the first proposition. He also noted the project was modeled to keep the district's share under "$4 per $100,000 full value" for Oxford residents and said construction could begin in March 2027 if approved.
Superintendent Nicholas A. Colosi noted Phase I district work is nearly complete and that the district has scheduled bid openings for Phases II and III and a special BOE meeting for Nov. 19 to consider next steps. The presentation included a review of debt-service impacts; board members did not take formal action on the proposition during the Nov. 3 meeting.
The board was advised that the propositions will be decided at component-district polling locations on Feb. 3, and the Masonville purchase will proceed only if the initial proposition passes.
