Board approves track uniforms and declines extended HVAC warranty for new CTE facility

The board reviewed athletics and facilities items during new business. Chair Jolene Marchand asked Athletic Director Ron Frescas to meet with spring coaches, review the athletic handbook and ensure seasonal evaluations and absence protocols are clear.
Because there were not enough students to support a softball team, the board directed Ron Frescas to order track uniforms. Jarae Cate moved to approve the track uniforms and Anna Vargas seconded; the motion carried. On facilities, Superintendent Effie Dean reported Facilities Director Dave Cirk did not recommend purchasing an extended warranty for the new CTE HVAC system because the main parts are already warranted for five years; the board agreed with that recommendation.
Board members recorded the uniform order and the HVAC decision in the minutes; no dollar amounts for the uniform order or an extended-warranty price were specified on the record.
