Santiam Canyon SD 129J accepts clean fiscal audit; ORCA also reports clean audit

The Santiam Canyon School Board on March 11 accepted the district’s financial audit for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2025, after a presentation by Nicole Darcy of Pauly, Rogers and Co., P.C. Darcy told the board no management letter was issued, indicating auditors did not identify material deficiencies.
Superintendent Krista Nieraeth recommended the board formally accept the audit as a best practice. "There were no deficiencies identified," Darcy said in the presentation. Mr. Anderson moved to accept the audit; Mr. Cole seconded, and the motion passed 4-0.
Board members also heard that ORCA—the online program for which Santiam serves as sponsoring district—received a clean audit and is performing well among comparable online schools, Nieraeth said. She reminded the board the ORCA annual report had been presented previously and urged trustees to review that packet as Santiam continues its sponsorship relationship.
The board recorded the acceptance of the audit without further conditions and acknowledged staff work preparing documentation for auditors.
