Developers propose rooftop infinity pool, executive suites and restaurant changes at proposed Patchogue hotel

At the special planning-board meeting the applicant’s design team described additions to the previously approved hotel site plan focused on rooftop amenities.

Architect James Madcomb told the board the amendment adds a rooftop infinity-edge pool and two executive-level suites at the south end of the roof. Madcomb described the pool in detail: "The 1st is a rooftop infinity edge pool. Pool is 15 by 45 by 4.5 deep, and that will be overlooking, the marina and the bay." He said the fitness center would be moved from the first floor to the roof and that the pergola over part of the outdoor area would include motorized louvers for shade.

The team said they plan to reduce rooftop-restaurant seating to about 150 to better match other restaurants and to preserve street sight lines by pushing rooftop uses to the rear of the building. In response to questions about the hotel brand, the architect clarified the project will be a Hilton Tapestry property, which the applicant said offers more design latitude than the Hilton Tempo brand and would allow design elements that honor the village’s heritage.

The board asked whether the movable trellis or pergola would increase building height; the applicant said the changes would keep the building below the 75-foot maximum and that the pergola is limited to part of the rooftop lounge.
