Commission approves library HVAC share, Chromebook resolution and $469,315 state grant for summer learning

Commissioners approved several finance and education items on the agenda. The county agreed to fund $66,522.70 of the Lincoln County Library HVAC project, contingent on the City of Fayetteville's matching payment and a letter acknowledging that the county contribution will not be included in the library's maintenance-of-effort calculation.

The Board also recommended approval of a 36-month Chromebook lease for Lincoln County High School; the proposal included a yearly cost figure cited in the meeting packet as $175,675.28 and will proceed subject to comptroller approval. Separately, the county recorded a late-arriving state grant of $469,315.76 to pay for the school system's summer learning program; commissioners approved the budget amendment to accept and record those state funds.

Several budget cleanup amendments and line-item transfers were also approved on the consent calendar, including amendments for payroll adjustments and one highway fund amendment of $25,000 to record revenue received for guardrail damage reimbursement. Commissioners noted that certain expenditures (e.g., multiyear leases) require comptroller review and that staff would make subsequent budget cleanups at the June meetings.
