Milton-Freewater Unified School District 7 approved replacement bleachers and a new baseball scoreboard during its meeting. Superintendent Martin Moore described a Norpak aluminum bleacher package — including installation — to replace bleachers destroyed at Grove, with a bid of $46,100; he said the district’s insurance provider will cover the majority of that cost. "This just so that you know is on the state bidding program... They're at Grove by a driver, who just kept going through, for 46,100," the superintendent told the board.
Moore also described a scoreboard purchase for the baseball field priced at $22,007.81 and noted a $20,000 grant from the Milton-Freewater Area Foundation that will cover most of the expense; Moore said the city will pick up the remaining cost and that he planned to meet with the city mayor to coordinate installation. A motion to accept the bleacher proposal was moved, seconded and carried by voice vote. The board did not record a roll-call tally in the transcript; minutes note the motion "carried."
