Miss Gibbons, speaking for the Computer Science and Technology department, described this summer's technology work: district‑wide wireless access point replacements (including outdoor APs), added network closets, restructuring of high‑school network racks, rollout of staff laptops, migration to cloud‑based print release and phone systems, and a plan to move away from a local Active Directory. She said the district implemented priority cybersecurity recommendations from a NIST gap analysis and added 24/7 monitoring via Microsoft Sentinel through Nassau BOCES.
On family services and communication, Miss Gibbons said the district will offer a Stop Finder bus‑tracking app in the fall "[that] will allow families to track their child's bus and get notifications from the district's transportation department." She also described a new mobile‑friendly website integrated with ParentSquare and ongoing device programs (iPads, Chromebooks) and optional Chromebook insurance through Securinty.
