West Oso ISD trustees report completed trainings and continuing-education hours

At the Dec. 15 meeting Board President Velma Rodriguez presented the annual announcement of board training credits, and trustees recorded completion of required trainings. The minutes list completed items including local district orientation, orientation to the Texas Education Code, post-legislative updates, the annual team-building session, continuing-education totals, biennial training on evaluating student academic performance and setting goals, identifying and reporting abuse and trafficking of children, and school safety trainings.

Trustee Albert Villarreal was explicitly listed as completing multiple items for first-year orientation and code training. Several trustees were noted as exceeding required continuing-education hours — for example, Board Member Belinda Gonzalez exceeded required hours by 17, Liz Gutierrez by 15.5, and Oscar Arredondo by 20 additional hours. A motion by Shirley Jordan to acknowledge the announcement carried 6–0–0.
