Superintendent Brian Rentsch told the board the district would pursue sale of the Claymont Intermediate building and had introduced two firms to represent the district: Amy Myers of The Barnett Realtors and Bob Hall of Cronebaugh Auction. Rentsch said the building must first be offered to any community school or chartered non-public school in the district — none exist — and that he would like to complete a sale before winter to avoid further maintenance costs.
Rentsch said a "timeline for an auction is at least 60 days." The presentation did not include a formal motion or vote to list the property; the item was presented as an administrative update and next steps were described as outreach to potential buyers and a 60-day auction window if the board proceeds with that method.
