The Vernonia SD 47J board on Tuesday approved the district's Student Investment Account (SIA) grant agreement, authorizing acceptance of up to $642,917.87 to support a range of academic and student-success activities.
Superintendent Craig presented the grant and described allowable uses in the packet, saying the funds support "instructional assistants for student support," Vernonia Family Academy staffing, a high-school advanced math teacher, middle-school textbook adoption, testing opportunities (ACT, PSAT, SAT), and CTE programming, among other items. Craig said the disbursement is tied to completion and approval of project activities and that the grant aligns to district goals and state reporting requirements. The motion to approve the SIA grant agreement was moved, seconded and passed without recorded opposition.
