Board members raised repeated questions about the district’s student body accounts, asking staff to explain numerous line items marked “done” and to demonstrate where consolidated funds were transferred.
The finance presenter said older graduating‑class accounts were consolidated and some funds were moved into an alumni scholarship fund. One trustee said the earlier account lists contained nearly $300,000 spread across many accounts and asked for documentation of how each legacy balance was handled. “I feel pretty good that we've been digging into this, and some of these funds that have been sitting there for a long time have been getting distributed back to where they belong,” S4 said in closing remarks urging continued transparency.
The board asked staff to return with notes showing transfers and reconcile any negative balances so trustees can confirm older monies were not inappropriately reallocated and that funds continue to support the programs or students for which they were raised.
