The superintendent (Speaker 5) told the board the district is seeing enrollment growth compared with last year: on one data check there were 23 additional students and the superintendent described "42 new students total" since last year. The district will prioritize four focus areas in its School Improvement Plan (SIP): high-quality instruction, student engagement, consistent behavior systems, and professional learning communities (PLC/PLT).
Speaker 5 said the district is directing professional development and resource decisions around those four priorities and emphasized targeted interventions for students who have historically struggled. The superintendent noted use of PBIS and Love and Logic as behavior strategies and said instructional strategies that are effective should be implemented consistently rather than in "pockets" across classrooms.
