Boyceville school board moves to closed session, accepts coach resignation and approves three hires

The Boyceville Community School District Board of Education met April 15 in the Middle/High School Media Center and handled routine business before pausing for a closed-session personnel discussion.
President Amber Carlsrud noted the board members in attendance; after approval of the agenda and previous meeting minutes, the board voted to adjourn to closed session under Wisconsin Statute 19.85 (1)(c) to discuss 2026–2027 staffing, compensation, and extracurricular pay. The roll call on the motion to enter closed session recorded Carlsrud, Fetzer, Formoe, Mrdutt and Olson voting yes.
On reconvening at 7:42 p.m., the board accepted the resignation of Colby Dotseth as varsity boys basketball coach. The board also approved three hires: Dale Mahalko as network administrator and Ali Fentress as an elementary teacher; motions for those hires were moved and seconded and recorded as approved. The meeting adjourned at 7:43 p.m.
