A finance committee member told the Keansburg Board of Education the committee had reviewed the bills list and asked that the board consider service contracts on tonight’s agenda and a resolution urging relief from rising public‑school employee health care costs.
"We wanted the service contracts that are gonna be before the Board of Education today, and then also the resolution urging relief from the rising public school employee health care costs, and asking our legislators and the governor to really intervene," the committee member said. The item was presented as part of the superintendent’s recommendations and included on the consent agenda for board approval.
The resolution was listed among the superintendent’s items (item 25) and was taken up with the consent agenda vote. Board members recorded several recusals and abstentions on specific numbered consent items during the roll call, but the consent agenda — including the healthcare resolution — proceeded as part of the superintendent’s recommended actions.
