At its June 22 meeting the South Williamsport Area School Board approved a package of agreements to support special education, technology, online learning and therapeutic services for the coming school year. Agreements include a 2026–2027 IDEA Agreement and several special education and technology services contracts with Blast IU 17 (including data center hosting and network/voice services), an agreement for pediatric therapy services with UPMC Williamsport d/b/a UPMC Pediatric Rehabilitation, athletic training services with UPMC Presbyterian Shadyside d/b/a UPMC Sports Medicine (through 2028–29), New Story Educational Services, and related contracts.
The motion passed on roll call; the minutes note two no votes recorded on the agreements package (Board President Todd Engel and Board Member Steve Rupert in one recorded ballot) but the package carried. The approvals authorize the administration to finalize contracts and implement the vendor-provided services for student support and district IT operations.
