South Williamsport Area School Board reelects Todd Engel as president; Rupert named vice president

Todd Engel was confirmed as President of the South Williamsport Area School Board during the district’s Dec. 2, 2025 reorganization session. Engel had been nominated by Benjamin Brigandi and the motion to elect him was seconded by Dr. Summer Bukeavich; the roll-call vote of members present was unanimous.
Mrs. Jamie Mowrey, Board Secretary, read certificates of election for newly elected members: Cathy Bachman (Region Three, four-year term), Benjamin Brigandi (Region One, four-year term), Dr. Kimberly Kohler (Region One, four-year term), Jason Lewis (Region Two, two-year term) and Steven Rupert (Region Two, four-year term). Engel administered the oath of office to the elected members. The board also elected Steven Rupert as Vice President after a nomination from Jason Young and a second by Bachman; that vote was unanimous as well.
The board adopted the calendar of regular and work-session meeting dates for 2026 to be held at 6:00 PM in the High School Large Group Instruction Room. (Note: the meeting packet header in the record reads "DATES FOR 2024," but the motion and listed dates are for 2026.)
Next scheduled meeting dates adopted include Jan. 12 and Jan. 26, 2026, among others through Dec. 7, 2026.
