The South Williamsport Area School Board approved second readings of Policy No. 204 (Attendance); 218.1 (Weapons); 610 and 611 (Purchases); 805 and related policies on emergency preparedness and school security; and Policy No. 913.1 (Sponsorships and Advertising). The motions were moved and approved on unanimous roll call votes.
The board also approved the BLaST Intermediate Unit #17 2026–2027 General Operations Budget in the amount of $3,613,621 on a roll call vote; President Todd Engel recorded a no vote while the remaining members voted yes. Additionally, the board approved two overnight field trips: Region Band students to Hazleton (March 11–13, 2026) and Academic Decathlon students to Hershey (March 13–14, 2026). During Courtesy to the Floor, four public speakers — Scott Weisel, Fonda Nevel, Dustin Isenberg and Katie Caputo Noll — addressed standardized testing scores and a scholarship letter; no board action was taken on those public comments at the meeting.
