Board approves retirements, leaves and hires for 2026–27 school year

The district accepted the retirement of Joan Helmrich, Food Service Manager at the Junior Senior High School, effective June 5, 2026, and the resignation of paraprofessional Madeline Hulslander effective May 27, 2026. Superintendent Eric Briggs acknowledged the letters of resignation in the meeting minutes.
On a roll call vote the board approved hires for the 2026–2027 school year: Ronald Timko as a high school math teacher (step B‑1, pending completion of his bachelor’s program in spring 2026), Port Habalar as seventh grade social studies teacher (step B‑1), and Sara Caputo as a sixth grade ELA teacher (step B‑3). The board also approved Adam Stryker as a Food Service Worker at Central Elementary (6.5 hours/day at $16.18 per hour, effective April 22, 2026) and a classified substitute (Cynthia Nester) pending clearances. The minutes record unanimous roll call approval for the employment motions.
